A First Look at the Research Track Schedule

NAACL HLT 2018 will feature:
  • June 1: Tutorials
  • June 2-4: Research Track
  • June 2-3: Industry Track
  • June 5-6: Workshops

The research track will include keynotes,  long and short paper oral and poster presentations from TACL and from submissions accepted to NAACL HLT 2018, and demos. And of course there will be a NAACL business meeting and plenty of food (and coffee!).

In planning the schedule for the research track, we were inspired by the excellent arrangement of EMNLP 2017, in which small poster sessions were parallel with oral presentation sessions during the day, giving the audience plenty of time for focused attention on all research contributions, and leaving the evenings free for those who want to socialize, network or take care of family.

During June 2-4, each day will start off with a plenary keynote. The keynote will be followed by a series of parallel oral and poster sessions, with breaks for coffee and lunch.

  • Poster sessions will be given 1.5 hour slots with time in between to wrap up and set up, and will feature no more than 50 posters/demos each, set up in thematic areas of no more than 20 posters/demos each in separate parts of the poster space.  As is the practice at *ACL conferences, some of the presented papers will be TACL papers.
  • Oral presentations will each receive an 18 minute slot (including questions). As is the practice at *ACL conferences, some of the presented papers will be TACL papers.

Each day will end by 18:30.
